Affordable Dreams
“Affordable Dreams: The Goetsch-Winckler House and Frank Lloyd Wright” (ISBN: 1-879147-12-2) is a special issue of Michigan State University’s Kresge Art Museum Bulletin produced in conjunction with an exhibit of the same name at the Kresge Art Museum, Michigan State University, which ran from September 22 to December 14, 1990.
Published in 1991, the book is the definitive treatise on the subject of the Goetsch–Winckler house and its original owners. Edited by Susan J. Bandes, it includes several monographs—among them “Impressions of Living with Wright,” written by one of the home’s contemporaneous owners—along with a historical timeline and original drawings and renderings.
We’re often asked where one can obtain a copy of the book, as it is no longer in print. Copies may be ordered by emailing Alexa White-Rayborn at whitea53@msu.edu. Copies occasionally pop up on Ebay as well.
